Pastor Nelson Sneed

Servant in Heart, Abiding in Grace

Nelson Sneed was born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia near the town of Clarksville.
He is the fifth of ten children born to Robert and Annie Mae Sneed. He is married to Sara Sneed and they have three wonderful adult children, three fantastic children-in-love, and six dynamic grandchildren. He joined the Davis Chapel Baptist Church in Stovall, NC at a young age. In January 1979, he joined the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church (MPBC) located in Alexandria, VA. There he served in many of MPBC ministries, twelve years in the Deacon Ministry, approximately nine years as a Son of MPBC. Pastor and First Lady Sneed served for three years on the Executive Committee of Family Life (a division of Campus Crusade for Christ) in the Washington Metro Area. Pastor Sneed retired from Verizon Communications in August 2008 after thirty-one years of dedicated service.

He was licensed to the Gospel Ministry in December 1993 and ordained in December 2000 by the MPBC. On September 10, 2002 he accepted the call to serve as Pastor of the Little Forest Baptist Church (LFBC) in Stafford, Virginia. He graduated from the Washington Bible College located in Lanham, MD with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2010, with a focus on Pastoral Ministries. Pastor Sneed’s passion is to create a “culture of excellence” among God’s people as we embrace the rich truth of Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.” What glorious truth and power to transform sinners into saints, as we live out this great truth, Christ lives in us. Pastor Sneed currently serves as Moderator of the Northern Virginia Baptist Association, a member of the Baptist Minister Conference of Northern Virginia and Vicinity, and a member of the Missionary Baptist Ministers’ Conference of Washington, DC and Vicinity.
