Meet Pastor Sneed



Pastor Nelson Sneed is married to Sara Tims Sneed and they have three wonderful adult children, Angela, Christina, and David. As a young child, Nelson Sneed joined the Davis Chapel Baptist Church in Stovall, NC. Later in January 1979, he joined the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Alexandria, VA. While there he served in several church ministries including a Deacon for 12 years. Rev. Sneed and First Lady Sneed also served for three years on the Executive Committee of Family Life (a division of Campus Crusade for Christ) in the Washington Metro Area. Pastor Sneed, retired from Verizon Communications in August 2008 following thirty-one years of dedicated service.

Rev. Sneed holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Washington Bible College in Lanham, MD. He was licensed as a minister at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in 1993, and ordained in the year 2000. He accepted the call to serve as Pastor of Little Forest Baptist Church (LFBC) in 2002. He has remained a faithful shepherd of the members of that congregation to this day. He attends the EK Bailey International Expository Preaching Conference annually and believes expository preaching is the best way to “declare what God is saying in His Word!”

Pastor Sneed and his wife, Sara, selflessly give of their time and resources to personally help others. Sister Sneed assists in mentoring and modeling a godly life for the young ladies of LFBC. As a strong advocate for youth, Pastor Sneed places a high priority
on young people in the community and in the church. He established a ministry to support the LFBC Young Adults residing on college campuses and elsewhere to ensure they remain connected to the LFBC family and to each other. Rev. Sneed also takes a special  interest in the senior members of the congregation, known as the “Seasoned Saints”  He ensures their basic needs are being met and ministers to their spiritual and emotional needs, as well. He periodically joins them on outings and activities that keep them involved in ministry.

Rev. Sneed is a well-respected member of the clergy. He serves on the Executive Board of the Northern Virginia Baptist Association and as Third Vice-Moderator. He also serves as a member of the Baptist Ministers Conference of Northern Virginia and Vicinity and the Missionary Baptist Ministers Conference of Washington DC and Vicinity.
